Shea Moisture Products Review

Awhile back, maybe 2 months ago, Walgreen’s had a buy one get one free sale on Shea Moisture products. I have heard some really good things about this product line and couldn’t wait to see how my hair would react to it. This was the perfect time for me to try. I purchased 4 different products for $20; Curl Enhancing Smoothie, Curl & Style Milk, Hold Shine Moisture Mist and Restorative Conditioner .

All of the products I’ve tried has a really nice and sweet smell to them. Contains natural ingredients like shea butter, coconut oil and neem oil. Leaves out the bad stuff like mineral oil, parabens, sulfates and other chemicals.

ORGANIC COCONUT & HIBISCUS CURL ENHANCING SMOOTHIE

My first time using this did not go over so well. I tried to use it for a dry twist out and the next day my hair was limp and had a wet feel to it. I had to wash it out because it was yucky feeling. The hair did not absorb it probably because I used to much. I tend to bit a heavy handed when it comes to applying product.
I did not give up on it. After co washing my hair I applied this on damp hair and the curls were looking good. Curls and coils were popping everywhere! Once it dried hair was shiny and had a soft feel, not crunchy feeling. I only use this on damp hair now.

ORGANIC COCONUT & HIBISCUS CURL & STYLE MILK

This product kinda reminds me of Pink Lotion. I have used this to do wet and dry twists, on a dry afro and to add moisture and shine to next day hair. I like it!

ORGANIC COCONUT & HIBISCUS HOLD & SHINE MOISTURE MIST
I absolutely love this spray! My hair feels so soft and smells so good after using it. I spray this on dry afros and protective styles that need to be refreshed with moisture and oils.

ORGANIC RAW SHEA BUTTER RESTORATIVE CONDITIONER

I have used this conditioner to help with detangling while taking down protective styles and as a leave in conditioner. It is very creamy and thick. The pump dispenses just the right amount of product.

At first I was concerned about the bottle sizes, they look small so I thought I would run through the products. Boy was I wrong, since owning these products I have only used about half of each. Except for the moisture mist, that is almost empty because I love it so much.

The regular $9.99 – $10.99 price is a bit much for my budget at the moment but the next time they go on sale I will buy them again and maybe try something else from the Shea Moisture line.

So glad you posted this review. When sharing with other naturalistas they had mixed reviews on the curl enhancing smoothie. I like it a lot and didn't want to give up on it just yet. I was so glad to see your advice on trying it on dry hair for best results.I love the shampoo as well. So far these are the only two products from Shea Moisture that I've tried. Just trying to find my place….'naturally'!
