Product Review: Beautiful Textures

It has been many many moons since I walked into a local Korean beauty supply store. I really haven’t been avoiding the stores just didn’t have a need to go in one. Back in July for some reason I decided to go there to pick up a few items like clips, satin rollers, combs, etc …
While shopping I went down every aisle looking at different brands of relaxers remembering how I used to just walk in pick up the perm of choice, a half wig or ponytail and walk right out. Now I’m looking around for more than 15 minutes searching for a product that would help to style mine and my daughter’s chemical free hair. I was shocked when I crossed over into one aisle and there were all types of stuff for natural hair. Grant it, the 1st ingredient in many was mineral oil or petroleum and the good stuff like aloe or jojoba was listed way at the bottom and some unpronounceable ingredients sprinkled in the middle but at least there were options.
I decided to go for the Beautiful Textures Curl Control Defining Pudding and Rapid Repair Deep Conditioner. I paid about $6 or $7 for each 15oz jar. At the checkout I noticed behind the counter the store also carried Kinky Coily. Guess they don’t trust that product on the shelf, I probably would have purchased if I saw it with the other products but then again this is I why I don’t shop here often. I have trust issues with this place but their low prices keep bringing me back kinda like Walmart.

Now let me get to the product review. Over the past 2 months these has been my go to products. These two products look the same, smell the same, and has the exact same consistency and color. After doing a wash and go with the deep conditioner I really had to pay attention to the labels but its seem to be basically the same product.
I have applied both products to wet and dry hair and achieved the same results either way. Both products left my hair feeling soft for a few days but around day 4 – 5 the crown was really dry, not sure if it was from the product or from the extremely hot sun. ooh-wee this summer was hot!

Whether my hair was styled in a wash and go, two strand twists, flat twists or twist outs the hair stayed moisturized for 2 – 3 days. I would usually spritz in the morning with a water and oil mix but there were some days where it was not needed at all.

It was shiny for days 1-2, by day 3 there was a nice sheen that lasted throughout the week. I was surprised that it didn’t have a dull appearance because I was not covering at night with anything, not even a satin pillowcase.

I also loved the curl definition that was achieved on both wet and dry styles.
