Green Smoothies and Me

Today I wanted to share with you all a Green Smoothie that I created this morning but I didn’t want to just jump out of the blue and start posting pictures of food and stuff when this blog has been dedicated to my natural hair journey. With every journey there are twists and turns and at this juncture my focus had to turn away from hair for a while, it was time to focus on health and let me tell you why.

I’ve Jumped on the Curl Kit Bandwagon

Having a little wiggle room in my financial budget has allowed me to sign up for the monthly Curl Kit box. I joined in February 2014 as a treat to myself  for celebrating my fourth nappiversary and so far I have not been disappointed. If you haven’t heard about it already you may be wondering what exactly is a Curl Kit. For $20 a month the lovely people at Curl Kit will send a box filled with full size and some sample size hair and body products along with a small magazine, right to your front door.  Over the past 3 months the products and samples that were packed into the boxes was enough for me to share with my teenage daughter and we still have unopened products to try.

Product Review: ORS Olive Oil Smooth n Hold Pudding

I absolutely love this stuff! Organic Root Simulator Smooth~n~Hold Pudding is a long time staple of mine, I even used this product back in my relaxed days (which really was not that long ago, just a little over 4 years).

It’s one of my favorites because it does exactly what the jar says;  Moisturizes, provide Shine, and Hold.

Braids and Shells

Over the summer the heat was just too much and caused my eczema to breakout on my neck. This outbreak made 2 braids to the back one of my “go to” styles because it kept my hair from irritating that red spot you see in the picture.

Banana Clip Ponytail

Hey yall! I wanted to drop a quick post about a new accomplishment I have been able to achieve on this natural hair journey. I’ve finally learned how to use those banana clips from back in the day that seem to be making a comeback. It was a lot of trial and error but I figured out that I can only use them when my hair has been stretched or flat ironed. These pics are from over the summer and I believe the clip was used on a very old twist out. I like these clips as an alternative to a regular ponytail holder because it makes my ponytail/puff look soo much fuller.

Been Soo Long

 Since my last post….
My camera and cell phone gave out on me at the same time so I was unable to take any pictures for quite awhile. Shopping for a new camera was not as fun as I thought it would be. I had the hardest time finding one that would fit my needs and my budget, either I’m a cheapskate or cameras are expensive. I mean all I want to do is take candid pictures, I’m not trying to be a professional photographer or anything like that.  Luckily I was able to find a nice camera bundle for less than $100 and can’t wait to get back into documenting my hair journey.
