Olive Oil

any brand of extra virgin olive oil will get the job done

Many people use olive oil to cook with but did you know that olive oil can also be used for hair and skin care?

This oil can be used to combat dandruff, dryness, adds shine and can improve the manageability of hair. It even helps to detangle some of the most stubborn knots and tangles. Olive oil is a thick oil and is ideal for use in hot oil treatments.

It is also a carrier oil. This means that essential oils can be added to it for extra benefits. For instance a few drops of essential rosemary oil  or peppermint oil added to olive oil will make a nice scalp massage oil that will help stimulate hair growth.

Olive oil can also be used as a skin moisturizer, massage oil  and make up remover. I have eczema on my arms and legs. Since using olive oil my skin is extremely soft and no more flaky irritated skin. I like to add a few drops of tea tree oil to oil that is applied to the skin.

Is olive oil apart of your hair and/or skin care routine? How do you use it?

***FYI***
Please do some research on aromatherapy before using essential oil. Essential oils are potent and may have different affects depending on the state of your health.

I use olive oil to take down braids or twists. Just a little on the fingertips and it helps with removing tangles gently.
