I’ve Jumped on the Curl Kit Bandwagon

Having a little wiggle room in my financial budget has allowed me to sign up for the monthly Curl Kit box. I joined in February 2014 as a treat to myself  for celebrating my fourth nappiversary and so far I have not been disappointed. If you haven’t heard about it already you may be wondering what exactly is a Curl Kit. For $20 a month the lovely people at Curl Kit will send a box filled with full size and some sample size hair and body products along with a small magazine, right to your front door.  Over the past 3 months the products and samples that were packed into the boxes was enough for me to share with my teenage daughter and we still have unopened products to try.

This month I received my fourth kit and it was filled with four full sized products by a company called 4Naturals. These products do not contain silicones, mineral oil, petroleum, parabens, harsh alcohols or sulfates. Which is great for me because I need to get back to caring for my hair properly because to be honest I have been really lazy with my hair care lately.

We look forward to receiving our kit in the mail because its a surprise every time. I like to call it our little beauty supply store in a box. It gives us a chance to try different products for curly, coily, kinky hair that is not found in the mainstream stores. Plus I think it’s great that the co-owner of the CurlKit company is a black women. That’s her on the cover of the Mother’s Day edition of Curl Life.
Our past CurlKits has included a soy lemon candle, a large satin bonnet, Rose Body Oil by Pooka Pure and Simple,  Lemongrass Leave In Conditioner by Alikay Naturals, Eco Curl N Style Cocktail, Tea Tree and Peppermint oil conditioner & shampoo by Haute Textures and much more. Can’t wait to see what’s coming in the June box!
