I made it: Whipped shea butter

After coming across information regarding the benefits of natural products like shea butter and various oils I became increasingly interested in making whipped shea butter.  Using what I had on hand I made a batch and tried it for the first time today. I noticed that my curls were defined and held moisture through out the entire day. I may use a little less than I did today and will see how my hair reacts to this mixture.

Here is what I used to make it:

  • 4oz unrefined shea butter
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons of hot six oil

Melt the shea butter in a hot water bath. In a mixing bowl combine shea butter, olive oil & hot six oil and blend using a hand mixer on low. Pour mixture in a airtight container and place in refrigerator for 2 hours. After 2 hours remove container and use to moisturize hair.
