Curlformer Curls

I have gained quite a bit of length since the last time I used curlformers and the thought of doing roller sets has been entering my mind lately. I decided to give them another try on my natural tresses.

Last time I used flax seed gel as a setting lotion and I loved the results but I was being lazy and did not feel like making another batch. So I went out to my local Walgreens and picked up a bottle of Elasta Qp Design Foam setting lotion. The results were not the same as using flax seed gel but it was a good alternative.

A braided headband was done in the front because I was not sure how I wanted the curls to fall or how long the curls would last. The end of the braids was pinned down to hide it. Towards the end of the week, when the curls were all gone,  the braids made it easy to transition into another style.

I slept in the curlformers and the next morning, after taking them out,  I had smooth shiny spiral curls.

Put a little oil on my hands and gently separated each curl to get rid of the parts

I really like the final look

These curls lasted 3 days. I put them in on a Sunday night, took the rollers out and separated the curls on a Monday morning. The style was all good until I got caught in the rain that Wednesday night.

I planned on doing more protective styles this Fall and Winter and in my book this roller set could be considered a protective style. What do you think, are roller sets considered a protective style option?
