I’m Back!!!!

It has been a really really long time since I’ve updated the blog. My last blog post was January 2016 and to be honest, its kinda hard and feels somewhat weird right now to get back on this keyboard sharing my journey. But at the same time I feel nervous and excited. Its pretty much the same feeling I had when I shared my very first natural hair story – Letting Go and Starting Over. I had to walk away for awhile in order to get my day to day life in order.

A lot of good and big life changes has happened while I was away. My babies are now mini adults so I’m transitioning from them depending on mommy, to being more like their life coach, but no matter what I will always be their mommy.  Hubby and I celebrated our double digits anniversary. I’ve picked up some new hobbies. Got a new position at the J.O.B..  Removed myself from most social media accounts. And now I’m getting back into taking care of me first; mentally and physically.

I do enjoy sharing my natural hair journey and since I’m jumping back on the blogging wagon…..I’m not going to say that I’m going to be putting up new post daily, weekly or monthly. My life just doesn’t work on that type of schedule. But I will say that I am going to put up new posts as often as I can. Who knows it may end up being daily, weekly or monthly.

I wanted to share with you guys how I’ve been out and about in this world with these curls and coils….

Until next time…

Under Construction

Its been awhile since I’ve updated the blog, mostly because life responsibilities took over and I was not able to find the time to sit down long enough to write and create videos like I wanted to. Now that I’ve gotten time management under control (at least I think I do) I’m ready to jump back on the horse and get back to sharing my natural hair journey.

With that being said you will notice some changes to the blog. I have switched from the blogger platform and learning how to use wordpress, so if something looks wonky just bare with me.  Once I get through the wordpress learning curve I can’t wait to continue sharing the ups and downs of my journey.

Perm Rod Roller Set

I have tried to do a perm rod set many many times before and lets just say that those attempts were never shown outside of my front door and were definitely not worthy to be shared on the blog. But I refuse to give up on them because I think perm rod sets create beautiful curls that seems to last at least a week on other peoples heads. I’m sure I  should get a similar result. So here I am, for the umpteenth time, trying to get it right and I am determined to do it myself.  This attempt took 2 days.

The 1st day (this was a Saturday) I followed a pretty normal shampoo and deep conditioning routine. On damp hair I used some foam wrapping lotion that I had laying around and Worlds of Curls Pudding to set and moisturize hair. The Worlds of Curls Pudding came in the August or September Curl Box so I figured this was a good time to give it a try. I rolled hair onto orange and purple perm rods in a sideways/spirally way, covered up with a scarf and proceeded to chill around the house to let hair air dry.

Mini Braids

I really enjoyed these mini braids this summer.  For almost the full month of July I didn’t have to worry about doing my hair. It took about 3-4 hours to do them but that was only because I was stopping and doing other stuff.
